Cambridge Property Surveys Ltd
Experienced • Independent • Local • Reliable

Ian has worked in the surveying profession since leaving Long Road Sixth Form College (Cambridge) in 1986, starting initially doing the RICS’ (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) own examination format, progressing to B.Sc. degrees in Estate Management and Building Surveying. There have been short spells out side of the industry, doing the two degrees, and as a result of the last property recession in the early 1990’s.
Within the last 23 years, Ian has gained experience in undertaking surveys on a wide variety of property construction in the area, including the limestone and collyweston tiles characteristic of Stamford and Oundle, to flint, clunch, clay bat, wattle and daub, thatch (as well as the other more common forms of construction), that are found in pockets across Cambridgeshire.
Cambridge Property Surveys Ltd operates within a geographical area as recommended by the RICS and required by most lenders. You can therefore be assured that all surveys are based on the solid foundation of good local knowledge. Click here to see what areas we cover.
Cambridge Property Surveys Ltd has grown out of the current turmoil in the property market. Ian Rhodes-Elson, MRICS, a local Chartered Surveyor, started the company following redundancy after his employer filed for administration in February 2009.
“The reaction to my setting up, from local business contacts in Estate Agency and other related professions, has been a delight and a source of reassurance. The company has got off to a very good start, with work coming from both private and corporate clients. Perverse though it may seem, I believe that the current turmoil that we are all enduring, and my being made redundant as a consequence, is proving to be a very positive experience for me.”
“Going forward, I am acutely aware that I am trading on my own reputation, and not someone else’s. It is my intention to provide a personal but professional service, being readily accessible to my client base before, during and after the survey process has taken place. I very much take the approach that I am here to provide a service, to the best of my ability, and to facilitate my clients’ purchase of their chosen property, giving impartial advice and commentary.”
